ParaCaídas: Proyecto de Comunicación para el Desarrollo sobre Salud Mental con jóvenes universitarios de instituciones privadas en Lima Metropolitana

Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación abarca la problemática y el diagnóstico que sustenta
el proyecto comunicacional denominado “Paracaídas”, realizado en Lima, Perú, durante
los meses de agosto a diciembre del año 2020. La investigación aborda el tema de la
salud mental en jóvenes universitarios, de 19 a 25 años, y su creciente deterioro durante
la pandemia COVID-19, teniendo como conclusión del diagnóstico la existencia de un
estigma en torno al pedido de ayuda, la expresión de emociones, vulnerabilidad y el
autocuidado, el cual previene a los y las estudiantes de pedir ayuda y atender su salud
mental. La metodología utilizada para la investigación fue, principalmente, cualitativa, a
través del uso de herramientas como focus group y entrevistas a profundidad con
estudiantes de 4 universidades privadas, especialistas del tema y autoridades
universitarias.
The present investigation addresses the subject and the diagnosis that support the communication project called "ParaCaídas", carried out in Lima, Peru, during the months of August to December 2020. The research addresses the issue of mental health in young university students, from 19 to 25 years old, and their increasing deterioration during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, it was found the existence of a stigma around mental health, associated only with clinical treatment and clinically diagnosed patients, prevents university students from asking for help, expressing their emotions and vulnerability and disregarding their mental health self-care. The methodology used for the research was qualitative, through the use of tools such as focus groups and in-depth interviews with students from 4 private universities, specialists in the subject and university authorities.
