Abstract

The document was made with the objective of making known the influence of parenting styles in the development of the child's emotional security and its effects. During the bibliographic review, a reference corresponding to the last twenty years has been taken. The academic sources have mainly been theses, magazines, books, among others; likewise, there are documents in english belonging to private universities of the United States, Central America, South America and Spain. The work has two thematic axes, parental styles and emotional security. The first has two subtopics where the theoretical approaches to these are described, as well as the evolution of the names of parental styles by different authors over time and the dimensions corresponding to each of these styles; as a second subtopic, an expansion of the conceptualization of each of the parenting styles is presented. The second central theme covers children's emotional safety and is divided into four sub-themes; The first explains the Theory of Emotional Security (TSE), as the second the theoretical models and theories that complement the TSE are presented, the third subtopic develops the characteristics of emotional security and insecurity and finally the effects, both positive and negative of parental styles on the emotional security of the child during his first six years of life. Finally, as final reflections, the current situation of the object of study, the gaps during the research, the research advances and the contributions towards my teaching training are presented on the part of both thematic axes.
