Abstract

The first, the historicity of Environmental Education and its relationship with early childhood, is aimed at describing the decisive world events to foster interest in Environmental Education. The second, the approach to Environmental Education in early childhood, delves into the policies and importance of Environmental Education in early childhood. The third describes the practices of Environmental Education in early childhood education, from the perspective of the greening of the curriculum and Environmental Education as a transversal axis. The study allows us to reflect on the distancing in relation to the theoretical and practical aspect of environmental education in early childhood, because the number of investigations on these practices is limited. It also allows us to analyze the importance of bringing children closer to Environmental Education from an early age, which contributes to forming responsible and respectful citizens, among other essential values for caring for the environment.
