La liberalización en el servicio de transporte público en Lima: Intento fallido de un buen servicio público

Abstract

Este artículo tratará sobre el impacto que ha tenido el proceso de liberalización en el Servicio de Transporte Público en la ciudad de Lima. Con esa finalidad, previamente se desarrollará la evolución en el tiempo de este servicio, pasando de ser considerado un servicio de interés público, hasta su categorización como servicio público, así como se explicará la importancia que tiene el transporte en la vida de los limeños. De igual manera, nos centraremos en analizar la implementación de la liberalización en este sector, mencionando lo que trajo consigo ello y advirtiendo la importancia que tuvo en el desarrollo del transporte público en la ciudad de Lima.

This article will discuss the impact that the liberalization process has had on the Public Transportation Service in the city of Lima. With this purpose, the evolution over time of this service will be previously developed, going from being considered a service of public interest, to its categorization as a public service, as well as the importance of transportation in the lives of Lima residents will be explained. Likewise, we will focus on analyzing the implementation of liberalization in this sector, mentioning what it brought with it and noting the importance it had on the development of public transportation in the city of Lima.
