Modelo prolab: Scoolanch, una propuesta sostenible que brinda un servicio integral de almuerzos escolares nutritivos para niños y adolescentes

Abstract

En Perú la ausencia de cultura alimentaria se ha transformado en una gran preocupación, ya que conduce a enfermedades vinculadas con la obesidad y el sobrepeso, en especial en niños y adolescentes. Se identificó que los padres de familia cuentan con opciones limitadas de preparación y envío de almuerzos nutritivos a los colegios de sus hijos, por lo que optan por enviarles alimentos procesados, altos en azúcar y grasas. Principalmente por tres razones: (a) consideran que se necesita más dinero para preparar un almuerzo nutritivo, (b) no cuentan con el tiempo requerido para cocinar y llevar los almuerzos al colegio, y (c) porque les resulta más fácil conseguir comida chatarra. La solución plantea el desarrollo de un aplicativo móvil llamado Scoolanch, el cual permitirá a los padres programar los almuerzos escolares que consumirán sus hijos, además estos serán llevados hasta la puerta de su escuela. Estos almuerzos serán diseñados por nutricionistas, así también se utilizarán envases biodegradables certificados y aptos para el contacto directo con alimentos. La finalidad de la solución es contribuir a mejorar la salud alimenticia de los niños y adolescentes en etapa escolar, además de reemplazar el tiempo que les demanda a los padres en preparar los almuerzos de sus hijos por un tiempo dedicado a mejorar la calidad de vida familiar. Este proyecto influye de forma directa con las ODS 3, 8 y 13, referidas a “salud y bienestar”, “trabajo decente y crecimiento económico” y “acción por el clima”. Para evaluar el modelo de negocio, se probaron varias suposiciones sobre la deseabilidad del producto utilizando un prototipo final. Además, tras efectuar el análisis financiero, se obtuvo un VAN de S/ 4’202,172, y una TIR de 225%, porcentaje que es superior al 15.12% del WACC, asimismo, se obtuvo un VAN Social de S/19’900,347, cifras que validan la viabilidad financiera y social del proyecto Scoolanch para los socios e inversionistas.

In Peru, the absence of food culture has become a great concern, since it leads to diseases related to obesity and overweight, especially in children and adolescents. It was identified that parents have limited options for preparing and sending nutritious lunches to their children's schools, so they choose to send them processed foods, high in sugar and fat. Mainly for three reasons: (a) they consider that more money is needed to prepare a nutritious lunch, (b) they do not have the time required to cook and take lunches to school, and (c) because it is easier for them to get junk food. The solution proposes the development of a mobile application called Scoolanch, which will allow parents to program the school lunches that their children will consume, in addition these will be taken to the door of their school. These lunches will be designed by nutritionists, and certified biodegradable containers suitable for direct contact with food will also be used. The purpose of the solution is to contribute to improving the nutritional health of children and adolescents in the school stage, in addition to replacing the time that parents spend preparing their children's lunches with time dedicated to improving the quality of

family life. This project directly influences SGD 3, 8 and 13, referring to "health and well- being", "decent work and economic growth" and "climate action".

To evaluate the business model, various assumptions about the desirability of the product were tested using a final prototype. In addition, after carrying out the financial analysis, a NPV of S/ 4'202,172 was obtained, and an IRR of 225%, a percentage that is higher than 15.12% of the WACC, likewise, a Social NPV of S/ 19'900,347 was obtained, figures that validate the financial and social viability of the Scoolanch project for partners and investors.
