Índice de progreso social del distrito de Pimentel

Abstract

Este proyecto tiene por objetivo general calcular el índice de progreso social del distrito de Pimentel, provincia de Chiclayo, departamento de Lambayeque, Perú en el año 2020, empleando el modelo sugerido por el Social Progress Imperative, y adecuado por CENTRUM PUCP. Para llevar a cabo la investigación se eligieron tres centros poblados del distrito de Pimentel, dado que el distrito no contaba con una zonificación municipal y estos tres concentraban el 79.9% del total de viviendas del distrito. Para el estudio se siguió un diseño descriptivo con enfoque cuantitativo y no experimental y se trabajaron un total de 54 indicadores, que incluyen 12 recopilados de fuentes secundarias y 42 del procesamiento de las encuestas. Se aplicaron 393 encuestas, según muestra seleccionada. Para abreviar, el índice de progreso social del distrito de Pimentel, provincia de Chiclayo, departamento de Lambayeque, Perú en el año 2020 fue de un nivel Medio Alto con 67.17 puntos, en una escala de cero a 100 puntos. En específico, el distrito de Pimentel; satisface en un nivel Alto las Necesidades Básicas Humanas de sus pobladores en el año 2020, con 79.54 puntos; satisface en un nivel Medio Bajo los Fundamentos de Bienestar de sus pobladores en el año 2020, con 59.46 puntos; y, satisface en un nivel Medio Bajo las oportunidades de sus pobladores en el año 2020, con 62.50 puntos. Estos resultados del distrito de Pimentel a nivel general y por dimensión son superiores al de la región Lambayeque, pese a ello se debe poner especial atención en los componentes de salud y bienestar, y de derechos personales porque obtuvieron los puntajes más bajos del modelo. A nivel de zonas, la Zona 1 sobresalió en las tres dimensiones, la Zona 2 debe recibir atención urgente en la dimensión de Fundamentos de Bienestar y en la de Oportunidades, y la Zona 3 en la de Necesidades Básicas Humanas. Para promover el progreso social en el distrito de Pimentel se requiere la intervención integral del gobierno distrital y que, además, fomente la participación de la empresa privada.

The general objective of this project is to calculate the social progress index of the district of Pimentel, province of Chiclayo, department of Lambayeque, Peru in the year 2020, using the model suggested by the Social Progress Imperative, and adapted by CENTRUM PUCP. Three population centers in the district of Pimentel were chosen to carry out the research, given that the district did not have a municipal zoning and these three concentrated 79.9% of the total number of houses in the district. The study followed a descriptive design with a quantitative and non-experimental approach and a total of 54 indicators were used, including 12 collected from secondary sources and 42 from the processing of the surveys. A total of 393 surveys were applied, according to the selected sample. In short, the social progress index of the district of Pimentel, province of Chiclayo, department of Lambayeque, Peru in the year 2020 was of a Medium High level with 67.17 points, on a scale of zero to 100 points. Specifically, the district of Pimentel; satisfies at a High level the Basic Human Needs of its inhabitants in the year 2020, with 79.54 points; satisfies at a Medium Low level the Fundamentals of Well-being of its inhabitants in the year 2020, with 59.46 points; and, satisfies at a Medium Low level the opportunities of its inhabitants in the year 2020, with 62.50 points. These results for the district of Pimentel at the general level and by dimension are superior to those of the Lambayeque region, although special attention should be paid to the components of health and well-being, and personal rights because they obtained the lowest scores in the model. At the zone level, Zone 1 excelled in all three dimensions, Zone 2 needs urgent attention in the Foundations of Well Being and Opportunities dimensions, and Zone 3 in Basic Human Needs. To promote social progress in the district of Pimentel, comprehensive intervention by the district government is required, as well as encouraging the participation of private enterprise.
