Índice de progreso social del distrito de El Mantaro

Abstract

La presente investigación se desarrolló con el propósito de calcular el Índice de Progreso Social (IPS) para el distrito de El Mantaro, provincia de Jauja, departamento de Junín del año 2020, se aplicó la metodología de investigación basada en el Social Progress Imperative (SPI), mediante la cual el IPS se integra considerando tres grandes dimensiones Necesidades básicas humanas, Fundamentos de bienestar y Oportunidades. Se empleó una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental y de alcance descriptivo, la encuesta utilizada como instrumento de investigación fue proporcionada por CENTRUM CATOLICA, para efectos del muestreo se completaron 325 encuestas dirigidas a los jefes y jefas de hogar, dividiendo la muestra en 2 zonas: urbana y rural. El puntaje de IPS calculado para el distrito de El Mantaro, en el departamento de Junín para el año 2020 fue 54.55, clasificado como un nivel “Bajo”, comparándolo con el IPS de la provincia Concepción, cuyo IPS en el 2018 fue de 49.09, el IPS de Mantaro es superior. Los resultados de IPS entre la zona rural, denominada “zona 1” y urbana, “zona 2”, no se diferencian significativamente, para la zona 1 el IPS calculado fue 50.03 y para la zona 2 fue 53.46, ambos se ubican en un nivel “Bajo” de IPS. A nivel de dimensiones, para el distrito de El Mantaro, los resultados de Necesidades Básicas Humanas y Fundamentos de Bienestar se ubicaron en un nivel “Muy Bajo” y “Bajo” respectivamente con IPS de 44.63 y 49.68, mientras que la dimensión Oportunidades se ubicó en un nivel “Medio Alto” con IPS de 69.32. Estos resultados evidencian los puntos críticos donde se deben efectuar las gestiones correspondientes por las autoridades locales y gubernamentales en el distrito de El Mantaro para cubrir necesidades básicas de la comunidad en salud, seguridad, vivienda, educación, entre otros. Finalmente, se plantearon recomendaciones en base a los resultados obtenidos, que pueden servir de punto de referencia a las autoridades y comunidad del distrito de El Mantaro, a fin de reducir la brecha social, y mejorar en oportunidad y calidad la vida de sus habitantes.

The IPS results between the rural zone, called “zone 1” and the urban zone, “zone 2”, do not differ significantly, for zone 1 the calculated IPS was 50.03 and for zone 2 it was 53.46, both are located at one level. At the level of dimensions, for The Mantaro district, the results of Basic Human Needs and Foundations of Well-being, were located at a “Very Low” and “Low” level respectively with IPS of 44.63 and 49.68, while the Opportunities dimension was located at a “Medium High” level with an IPS of 69.32. These results show the critical points where the corresponding steps must be taken by the local and governmental authorities in The Mantaro district to cover the basic needs of the community in health, safety, housing, education, among others. Finally, recommendations were made based on the results obtained, which can serve as a point of reference for the authorities and the community of The Mantaro district, in order to reduce the social gap, and improve the opportunity and quality of life for its inhabitants.
