Índice de progreso social del distrito de Lurín

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio fue medir el Índice de Progreso Social [IPS] de los habitantes del distrito de Lurín, a través de la aplicación de la metodología proporcionada por el Social Progress Imperative [SPI], el cual considera la medición del IPS de las dimensiones de necesidades humanas básicas [NHB], fundamentos de bienestar [FB] y oportunidades [OP]. Para cumplir el objetivo en mención, se utilizaron fuentes primarias y secundarias, como fuente primaria se utilizó una encuesta proporcionada por CENTRUM PUCP y adaptada para dicho fin, y como fuente secundaría se consultaron documentos oficiales de distintas entidades públicas y privadas; adicionalmente se realizaron visitas de campo para conocer la realidad de las zonas evaluadas, como también se sostuvieron diversas reuniones con las autoridades correspondientes, tanto del periodo municipal anterior como del actual. El resultado del IPS alcanzado por el distrito de Lurín fue de 46.39 puntos, en una escala que va desde 0 hasta 100, lo cual lo ubica en un nivel de IPS bajo según la escala de SPI; asimismo, el mejor puntaje lo obtuvo la dimensión de OP con 56.36 puntos, seguido por NHB y FB con 45.57 y 37.26, respectivamente. En relación a las zonas del distrito, la zona 1 obtuvo el mejor puntaje con 48.29, seguido de la zona 3 con 47.24, ambas zonas alcanzaron un nivel bajo de progreso social, mientras que la zona 2 se ubicó en último lugar con 43.65 puntos. Tras un análisis exhaustivo de estos resultados, se identificaron oportunidades de mejora para cada uno de los componentes de las tres dimensiones. Los hallazgos y las recomendaciones del presente estudio fueron presentadas ante el actual alcalde de la Municipalidad de Lurín, Sr. Jorge Marticorena Cuba y sus principales asesores, con la finalidad de ponerlas a su disposición y de esa manera, ser parte de un cambio que contribuya en generar las condiciones necesarias para mejorar el bienestar y la calidad de vida de los pobladores del distrito de Lurín.

The objective of this study was to measure the Social Progress Index [IPS] of the inhabitants of the district of Lurín, through the application of the methodology provided by the Social Progress Imperative [SPI], which considers the measurement of the IPS of the dimensions of basic human needs [NHB], welfare fundamentals [FB] and opportunities [OP]. To fulfill the aforementioned objective, primary and secondary sources were used, as a primary source a survey provided by CENTRUM PUCP was used and adapted for that purpose, and as a secondary source, official documents from different public and private entities were consulted; In addition, field visits were made to know the reality of the areas evaluated, as well as several meetings were held with the corresponding authorities, both from the previous municipal period and the current one. The result of the IPS reached by the Lurín district was 46.39 points, on a scale ranging from 0 to 100, which places it at a low IPS level according to the SPI scale; likewise, the best score was obtained by the OP dimension with 56.36 points, followed by NHB and FB with 45.57 and 37.26, respectively. In relation to the zones of the district, zone 1 obtained the best score with 48.29, followed by zone 3 with 47.24, both areas reached a low level of social progress, while zone 2 was last with 43.65 points. After an exhaustive analysis of these results, opportunities for improvement were identified for each of the components of the three dimensions. The findings and recommendations of this study were presented to the current Mayor of the Municipality of Lurín, Mr. Jorge Marticorena Cuba and his main advisers, with the purpose of making them available to him and thus be part of a change that contributes in generating the necessary conditions to improve the well-being and the quality of life of the inhabitants of the district of Lurín.
