Apego y sensitividad materna en madres y niños preescolares del distrito de Los Olivos

Abstract

Tanto Bowlby como Ainsworth plantearon, en base a sus investigaciones, que una de las principales condiciones vinculadas al establecimiento del apego seguro era la sensibilidad de la figura de apego al responder al niño. Diversos estudios respaldan dicha asociación, sin embargo, en los últimos años han surgido controversias que cuestionan dichos hallazgos. En ese sentido, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo conocer si existe una relación significativa entre apego del niño y sensitividad materna en el contexto peruano, específicamente en el distrito de Los Olivos en Lima Metropolitana. Se utilizaron dos instrumentos, el Attachment Q-Set (AQS) y el Maternal Behavior for Preschooler’s Q-set (MBPQS). Los resultados sugieren que existe una relación entre apego y sensitividad, en la cual todos los aspectos involucrados en la conducta sensitiva son igual de importantes para que el niño pueda usar a la madre como una base segura, manifestando principalmente una conducta de proximidad y contacto físico con la madre. Adicionalmente, este estudio reveló cierta información sobre la relación entre el temperamento del niño y el apego, por lo que se sugieren realizar investigaciones que profundicen sobre su incidencia en el contexto peruano considerando una muestra de mayor tamaño y un mayor tiempo de observación.

Bowlby and Ainsworth raised, based on his research, that one of the main conditions linked to the establishment of secure attachment was the sensitivity of the attachment figure to respond to the child. Several studies support this association, however, in recent years there have been controversies that challenge these findings. In this sense, the present study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between child attachment and maternal sensitivity in the Peruvian context, specifically in Los Olivos district in Lima. Two instruments were used, the Attachment Q-Set (AQS) and the Maternal Behavior for Preschooler's Q-set (MBPQS). The results suggest that there is an association between attachment and sensitivity, in which all the aspects involved in sensitive behavior are equally important for the child to use the mother as a secure base, mainly manifesting conduct proximity and physical contact with the mother. Additionally, this study revealed some information about the relationship between the child's temperament and attachment, so it is suggested to make future research on their impact on the Peruvian context considering a larger sample size and longer time of observation.
