Sexismo ambivalente, ideología política y culpabilización de la víctima de acoso sexual callejero en estudiantes de Lima Metropolitana

Abstract

El presente estudio buscó analizar el papel que cumple la vestimenta respecto a la culpabilización de la víctima de acoso sexual callejero y su relación con el sexismo ambivalente y el conservadurismo. En esa línea, se planteó que se encontrarían relaciones positivas entre la variable de culpabilización a la víctima de acoso sexual callejero con (1) la variable de sexismo ambivalente; con (2) la variable de Autoritarismo de Ala Derecha (RWA); y con (3) la variable de Orientación a la Dominancia Social (SDO). La muestra para el presente estudio fue de 197 estudiantes universitarios hombres y mujeres de Lima Metropolitana y La Libertad. Su edad comprendió entre los 18 y 35 años. Se encontró que las variables de ideología política y sexismo se correlacionan significativamente con la variable de culpabilización, lo cual nos permitió hacer análisis de regresiones múltiples. A partir de esto se encontró que el sexismo hostil, el sexismo benevolente, RWA (agresión autoritaria), SDO (dominancia grupal), y el Activismo Feminista presentaron un impacto directo en la Culpabilización a la víctima de acoso sexual callejero. Mientras que la RWA en su dimensión de Sumisión Autoritaria impacta de manera inversa.

The present study aimed to analyze the role of clothing in victim-blame of street sexual harassment and its relationship with ambivalent sexism and conservatism. In this context, it was hypothesized that there would be positive relationships between the variable of victim-blame of street sexual harassment and (1) the variable of ambivalent sexism, (2) the variable of Right-Wing Authoritarianism (RWA), and (3) the variable of Social Dominance Orientation (SDO). The sample for this study consisted of 197 male and female university students from Metropolitan Lima and La Libertad, aged between 18 and 35 years. First, scales measuring sexism and conservative political ideology were assessed. Subsequently, a hypothetical case of street harassment involving a woman wearing stereotypically provocative clothing was presented, followed by the evaluation of victimblaming instruments. It was found that the variables of political ideology and sexism were significantly correlated with the victim-blaming variable, allowing for multiple regression analyses. Based on this, it was found that hostile sexism, benevolent sexism, RWA (authoritarian aggression), SDO (group dominance), and Feminist Activism had a direct impact on victim-blame of street sexual harassment. Meanwhile, RWA in its dimension of Authoritarian Submission had an inverse impact.
