Cortometraje de ficción: El Giro

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan las propuestas de dirección y producción para la realización del cortometraje “El giro”, dirigido por Santiago Bazo. El mencionado proyecto se origina a partir de la experiencia propia de uno de los integrantes del grupo. Desde este punto, se desarrollan las temáticas que inspiraron el guion, donde se resalta la corrupción, la “criollada” y el juego de poder. A través del cortometraje, se busca reflejar uno de los tipos de corrupción más comunes en el país, el cual incluye a las esferas policiales y se manifiesta mediante la “coima” en el sistema de transporte. La historia gira en torno a la corrupción en dos niveles, abarcando el sistema policial y al ciudadano de a pie. Además, en el presente trabajo de investigación se detalla el proceso de creación, desde las referencias audiovisuales hasta las propuestas de realización de cada área involucrada. La estructura para la narración del cortometraje se plantea en dos momentos: los policías mantienen el poder y el status quo - el estudiante voltea el rol del poder y busca sacar provecho de ello. Por tanto, el lenguaje audiovisual se apega a ello, sin la intención de empatizar con ninguno de los personajes, presentando los escenarios y alejándose poco a poco, de acorde a la revelación de la corrupción. Con esto, el espectador podrá ser capaz de desarrollar una mirada crítica y reflexiva, respecto a la acción de los personajes en relación al poder y la corrupción tanto a nivel personal como social.

This paper analyzes the direction and production proposals for the making of the short film "El giro", directed by Santiago Bazo. The aforementioned project originates from the own experience of one of the members of the group. From this point, the themes that inspired the script are developed, where corruption, the "creole" and the power game are highlighted. Through the short film, it seeks to reflect one of the most common types of corruption in the country, which includes the police spheres and is manifested through "bribery" in the transportation system. The story revolves around corruption on two levels, encompassing the police system and the ordinary citizen. In addition, in this research paper the creation process is detailed, from the audiovisual references to the proposals for the realization of each area involved. The structure for the narration of the short film arises in two moments: the police maintaining power and the status quo - the student turns the roles of power around and seeks to take advantage of it. Therefore, the audiovisual language sticks to it, without the intention of empathizing with any of the characters, presenting the scenarios and moving away little by little, according to the revelation of corruption. With this, the viewer will be able to develop a critical and reflective look, regarding the action of the characters in relation to power and corruption, both on a personal and social level.
