El desarrollo de nuevos avances tecnológicos en la economía hace que sea necesario
pensar en nuevas formas de dinero digital que sean de más fácil acceso para las
personas. Esto generaría una serie de efectos positivos dentro del sistema financiero.
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal evidenciar el impacto que tiene la
creación de una moneda digital por parte del Banco Central del Perú (CBDC) sobre el
sistema financiero, más específicamente se busca observar cuál es el impacto sobre los
bancos privados, la dolarización y la inclusión financiera. Para evaluar este impacto se
hizo uso del modelo de Andolfatto (2018), adaptándolo a la realidad económica peruana.
Los resultados muestran que, en primer lugar, la inclusión de la CBDC aumenta el grado
de inclusión financiera, esto se debe a que induce condiciones contractuales más
favorables para los depositantes y por consiguiente aumenta la oferta de depósitos. En
el modelo, esto se da tanto a través de un margen intensivo y también de un margen
extensivo. En segundo lugar, se tiene que una inclusión de la CBDC reduce la
dolarización porque se genera competencia en torno a las tasas de depósito. La
conclusión principal a la que se llega en este trabajo es que resulta beneficioso la
inclusión de una moneda digital creada por el BCRP.
