This thesis begins by looking at the contemporary conflict in the public sphere between mutually exclusive perspectives on gender and sexuality. Given the constant attention in the literature on anti-gender mobilization, this research is limited to the explanation of the pro-gender advance in the education sector in Peru. The empirical reference is the elaboration of the National Curriculum for Basic Education 2016 (CNEB 2016), which was initiated by the General Directorate of Regular Basic Education of the Ministry of Education (MINEDU) in 2012 and culminated with modifications to the document published because of the anti-gender campaign Con Mis Hijos No Te Metas (CMHNTM) in March 2017. The theoretical framework is constituted by the Advocacy Coalitions Framework, the Institutional Analysis and Development Framework, State Feminism and Technocracy. Through process tracing and semi-structured interviews mainly with former officials, it is concluded that the initial hypothesis is partially corroborated. The corroborated factor is the reasonable degree of cross-sectoral institutionality in the Peruvian executive, while the agency of a pro-gender advocacy coalition is dismissed. While the individual commitment of key officials to the pro-gender agenda is relevant, there is no evidence of coordinated action to transfer the contributions of interested social movements to state action. Rather, the effective deployment of technocracy in MINEDU and the epistemological support of Peruvian academia are identified as supporting the institutional framework in proposing a constructivist gender approach in the CNEB 2016....

The national and international lobbying that has been achieved by the campaign “Don’t mess with my children”, has outlined anti-gender activism as a movement with a high capacity for organization and political participation; this leads us to question what factors explain their transnationalization. This research documents the process of transnational activism and identifies the participating organizations and activists during the campaign in Latin America between 2016 and 2020. The methodology is qualitative, based on interviews with activists and academics, and on an exhaustive review of network platforms. social and journalistic media. Based on a theoretical framework on transnational activism and its collective action processes, it is shown that the strengthening of transnational networks is explained by: the use of meeting spaces by peruvian activists; the support of local pro-life pro-family organizations in each country; and the sense of militancy formed thanks to the consolidation of a common political discourse. These factors contributed to the expansion of the peruvian campaign and, with it, the spread of anti-gender activism in the region. Finally, a transnational approach makes it possible to understand patterns of action when studying anti-gender mobilizations and campaigns that not only depend on local organizers, but also on a group of activists and NGOs that support themselves in increasingly visible networks in the international political arena....

género. En ese sentido, esta investigación busca
analizar la brecha salarial neta de género o la asociada a la discriminación, y si
esta varía regionalmente y macroregionalmente. Esto, porque existe un vacío en
la literatura en cuanto al enfoque regional...
There is an extensive literature that shows that women are disadvantaged in the labor market, despite their greater presence and longer years of schooling than men. Therefore, it is still important to explore the gender pay gap. In this sense, this research seeks to analyze the net gender wage gap or that associated with discrimination, and whether it varies regionally and macro-regionally. This is because there is a gap in the literature regarding the regional approach to the gender wage gap. In addition, there are other reasons to do research in this field, especially to rethink public policies. A theoretical framework of the determinants of the gender wage gap is presented: human capital, discrimination, segmentation, segregation, glass ceiling and self-selection. From this theoretical framework, the main explanatory variables that support the econometric model are proposed. The methodology used to estimate the net wage gaps is based on a Mincer equation corrected by Heckman. Among our main results we find, firstly, that there is a gender wage gap associated with discrimination at the national level. Furthermore, we find that this gap varies spatially: the rural net gap is greater than the urban one. This gap also varies macro-regionally. Likewise, we present the fundamental characteristics of the gap, which allow us, in association with our theoretical framework, to provide policy suggestions and corresponding conclusions....

This paper contributes to the debate on the barriers in which women academics are immersed, therefore, several researches have been reviewed within the framework of gender studies and the field of work. Although the review of the literature is quite broad in relation to gender and socioeconomic barriers, this study seeks to emphasize the situation of women in this new context of pandemic. In this way, we aim to answer the following question: what are the effects of the pandemic on the socio-economic and gender barriers of women academics? Regarding what is reviewed in the literature for the State of the Art and the Theoretical Framework, the importance of the sexual division of labor as the basis of these barriers is highlighted, and the Academy is also considered as a space where the mechanisms of inequality between men and women are manifested, and finally, the distribution of roles around care and domestic work is highlighted. Therefore, part of the secondary objectives will be to analyze what has happened with the academic burden since the pandemic, identify how they are assuming reproductive work in relation to these new work and family dynamics within the home and finally, what are the supports that women resort to from confinement....
