The present study aimed to analyze teachers’ perceptions of dramatic play and its contribution to the development of self-esteem in boys and girls of Cycle II at a private Early Childhood Education center in the district of San Isidro. Additionally, two specific objectives were established: first, to describe teachers’ perceptions regarding the contribution of dramatic play to the different dimensions of self-esteem; and second, to identify the opportunities and limitations perceived by teachers when implementing dramatic play in the classroom. This research was conducted under a qualitative, descriptive approach, using semi-structured interviews as the data collection technique, applied to three early childhood education teachers. The results showed that teachers recognize dramatic play as an important pedagogical strategy for the development of self-esteem. However, limitations related to lack of time, physical space, and curricular structure were identified, which hinder its continuous and free implementation. It is concluded that dramatic play constitutes a valuable pedagogical strategy for strengthening children’s self-esteem; therefore, it is recommended to promote stable and flexible spaces equipped with diverse materials that enable its continuous practice within the educational environment.
