This paper describes the conceptions and teaching strategies of a fifth-grade teacher regarding Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), contextualized within a private school in Metropolitan Lima. The research problem arises from clarifying the teacher's conceptions that guide pedagogical practice. Therefore, the following question was formulated: What are a teacher's conceptions and teaching strategies regarding inquiry-based learning with fifth-grade students in a private educational institution in Metropolitan Lima? The objectives focus on describing both the teacher's conceptions and the teaching strategies employed with fifth-grade students. The research methodology is framed within a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope. Interviews with the teacher and classroom observations are used as data collection techniques. The study concludes that the conceptions, understood as beliefs, are not explicitly stated; rather, the teacher describes what she does when implementing IBL. Regarding teaching strategies such as question formulation, information analysis and organization to produce knowledge, and reflection and evaluation of the process, these are applied in a coordinated manner with the different phases of the ABI (Academic Biological Intervention). The contribution of this work lies in the fact that teachers' conceptions, understood as beliefs, are not reflected in an interview but are predominantly implicit and become visible through teaching practice rather than in a declarative discourse.
