In the process of development of the individual, adolescence represents a crucial step because it is where biopsychosocial processes are defined and face various risk factors. This study focuses on the factor of the situation of family abandonment. In response, the government has taken measures to protect this population through Residential Care Centers (CAR in spanish). These institutions aim to provide foster care to allow adolescents achieve a sense of wellness. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the correlation between the constructs of Psychological Well, from the perspective of Carol Ryff, and perceived self-efficacy described by Ralf Schwarzer. The sample consisted of 69 male institutionalized in the CAR of Lima, in the district of San Juan de Miraflores, by situation of family abandonment between 13 and 18 years old. For this, the BIEPS-J questionnaire (Casullo, 2002) and the General Self-Efficacy test of Schwarzer (Schwarzer and Scholz, 2000) was used, who obtained reliabilities of .60 and .78 respectively. As a result was obtained average scores in Psychological well-being (m=31.16 SD =3.04) and self-efficacy (m=29.09 SD=5.63). In addition, no significant differences according to socio-demographic data of the sample, except for the variables birthplace, where migrants scored better than Lima teenagers were found. Finally, a medium intensity direct correlation between psychological variables, indicating that greater psychological well-being, increased self-efficacy is present in the sample was obtained.es_ES
